ONLINE ACADEMY CLASSES
At the Dean of Chess Academy, we are dedicated to providing a safe and educational environment for children to learn and enjoy the wonderful game of chess. Chess in known to improve memory, concentration and reading skills as well as increase problem solving & creativity skills. We offer a full range of sessions; students are grouped together according to their age and ability.
If you would like to join a session mid way, we can pro rate the remainder of the session for you. As each class is topic based, children do not miss out on progress so they can pick up strategies and theory throughout the session.
Intermediate
(under 700 USCF rating)
Students must know how the chess pieces move to join this class. Topics discussed include how to move the pieces, basic tactics, fundamentals of opening theory, fundamentals of endgame play, and much more. There will be structured lessons along with supervised play during class. This session meets for 1 hour a week for 8 weeks.
Advanced / Master Advanced

Students will be taught about increasingly complex middle game and endgame strategies as well as tactics. Students will look at high level games in order to learn about development and other aspects of the game. This session meets for 1.5 hours a week for 8 weeks.
Elite
> 1000 Classes
(over 1000 USCF rating)
Advanced sessions are for students who have been studying chess for a while and have a solid understanding of principles. Advanced players will study the finer intricacies of chess including difficult endgames and specific openings. Students will study high level games in order to improve. This session meets for 1.5 hours a week for 8 weeks and includes tournament game review.
